THEY STUDIED IT. BUT DO THEY REMEMBER IT?

Final Exam MR CROPPED.png

PLEASE NOTE  |  These 40-minute sessions are for adults only. Learners are not required to attend.

Your child may spend hours reading, highlighting, making notes, and revising. But studying information and remembering it when it matters are not the same thing.

The critical question is: CAN YOUR CHILD REMEMBER WHEN THEY NEED TO?

JOIN OUR FREE 40-MINUTE ONLINE DISCOVERY SESSIONS and experience a memory system for yourself.

These sessions help parents understand how studying, remembering, and optimised information retrieval through Memory Systems connect.

FOR PARENTS OF GRADE 8 – 11 LEARNERS

FREE 40-MINUTE ONLINE DISCOVERY SESSIONS

●  EXPERIENCE a practical memory system for yourself.

●  DISCOVER why studying, recognising, and remembering are not the same thing.

●  SEE how structure, association, and retrieval-cues support remembering.

RATHER THAN SIMPLY TELLING YOU HOW MEMORY SYSTEMS WORK, WE INVITE YOU TO EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF.

IN JUST 40 MINUTES:

Seeing information repeatedly can make it increasingly familiar. However, recognising something when it is in front of you is different from being able to bring it back without the source.

Effective learning therefore involves more than taking information in. Learners also need ways to make information meaningful and memorable, and retrieve it when they need it.

That is where memory systems can help.

STUDYING, RECOGNISING, AND REMEMBERING ARE NOT THE SAME

*MEMORY SYSTEMS DO NOT REPLACE UNDERSTANDING; THEY SUPPORT THE LEARNING PROCESS.

Memory systems are practical ways of giving information structure, connections, and retrieval cues.

Rather than leaving information as a collection of disconnected facts, a memory system can help the learner deliberately connect new information to something that is already known. Memory Systems quickly and easily increase recall 'stickiness' factor.

The aim is not simply to memorise more, it is to work with information more deliberately so that it becomes easier to organise, remember, and retrieve.

SO, WHAT ARE MEMORY SYSTEMS?

How effectively a learner thinks, concentrates, learns and remembers is influenced by more than a learning technique.

SLEEP, STRESS, NUTRITION, HYDRATION, EXERCISE, HEALTH, ATTENTION, MEDICATION, SUBSTANCES, ETC. all play a role.

These can all form part of the wider context in which learning and memory happen. That is why we do not position memory systems as a magic solution.

We position memory systems as one practical part of a broader approach to learning and cognitive performance.

During the Discovery Session, we will briefly introduce this wider context while keeping our primary focus on learning, memory, and retrieval.
